5-4-02 STORYFEST AT THE MICHIGAN THEATRE
CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS attended the adult version of the story telling festival.

5-7-02 TRIAD MEETING AND DOWNTOWN PATROL
After the monthly TRIAD meeting, CAPTAIN JACKSON had the opportunity to meet new Riverwalk Plaza Hotel manager Joseph Lang III. They discussed having The Captain helping promote the HOOPS event, and The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS helping with security.

5-8-02 FALLEN POLICE CEREMONY AND BART HAWLEY SHOW
Though a gray, rainy day, CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS the annual ceremony honoring Jackson County`s fallen police officers.
Afterward, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the downtown area and stopped in to watch The Bart Hawley Show. During the show the Captain met guest Sheriff Deputy Todd Whiting of the K-9 unit along with his partner Niko. 5-9-02 SENIOR CITIZEN HEALTH FAIR
CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to patrol the annual event as well as volunteer at the Jackson County TRIAD information booth.

5-11-02 DeMAY/COOPER WEDDING CELEBRATION
CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS had the honor of being guests at the wedding reception of Dale and Angie Cooper. Angie is the daughter of Kevin and Sue DeMay of Jackson. Dale`s family hails from West Virginia. The party was held at the old train depot on Airline Drive, which the DeMay`s are currently restoring.

5-12-02 MICHIGAN THEATRE
CAPTAIN JACKSON was on duty for the showing of the movie RETURN TO NEVERLAND.

5-13-02 AARP MEETING
The QUEEN of HEARTS attended the monthly meeting.

5-14-02 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK
The QUEEN of HEARTS spent the day at the JTS station and riding busses as she helped hand out "I love JTA" buttons and American Flag lapel pins.

5-15-02 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK
CAPTAIN JACKSON spent the day doing the same as The QUEEN of HEARTS had for the JTA.

5-17-02 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK
CAPTAIN JACKSON spent part of the day helping out at the JTA station.

5-18-02 DOWNTOWN FLOWER PLANTING DAY
The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS spent the morning helping beautifying Emerald City. In addition to their regular planter at the corner of Washington and Blackstone, this year CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS also had pots to plant in the alleyway between Michigan Avenue and Kuhl`s Farmer`s Market. The volunteer planters spent much of the morning filling the scores of planters with beautiful flora.

5-20-02 DOWNTOWN PATROL

5-24-02 MAY CRUISE NIGHT
The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS were on hand with the Jackson City Police to help make this first CRUISE NIGHT of the season a safe and fun event for all.
Even though this year the event took place on the eve of the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, over one thousand people attended and the evening proved to be safe for all.

5-27-02 MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND SERVICE
The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS was on hand for the parade and Memorial service which honored fallen service men and women throughout the history of this great nation.

5-29-02 MICHIGAN THEATRE
During his volunteer work at the Michigan, CAPTAIN JACKSON did his normal downtown Jackson patrol.

6-2-02 ROSE CITY PARADE
CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to help the Jackson City Police make certain the crowd was safe.
And as with the past two parades, the members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS finished the parade by being the last people to take the walk down Michigan Avenue to greet fans.

6-5-02 DOWNTOWN PATROL

6-7-02 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL
CAPTAIN JACKSON volunteered at The Michigan Theatre and later patrolled the Downtown Jackson area.

6-8-02 1st ANNUAL BLUESFEST AND MICHIGAN THEATRE
Between time at The Michigan Theatre, CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to enjoy and help the local police with security at Kuhl`s Farmer`s Market during the 1st Annual Jackson Blues Festival.

6-10-02 AARP #405 MEETING AND BART HAWLEY SHOW
CAPTAIN JACKSON was the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of local AARP #405. He spoke of safety tips, reporting crime and building local neighborhood watch units.
Afterward, he patrolled the downtown area and visited JTV-17 to watch The Bart Hawley Show. After the show, he took pictures of JTV-17 intern Dave Malden wearing part of his uniform (see the photo gallery of Jackson People for a view).

6-15-02 FATHER`S FAIR, MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER attended the first annual Father`s Fair which was held at Parkside Middle School.
During the event, the crime fighters attended a seminar given by Josh Landenberger about family pet laws along with an inspirational speech by NFL MVP Mike Singletary about the importance of single fathers being around to guide their children. CAPTAIN JACKSON was also interviewed by Family Life Radio station WUFN about preventing crime and setting a positive example for ones` own children. Later, CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL volunteered at The Michigan Theatre and patrolled the downtown area.

6-19-02 DOWNTOWN PATROL
CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS spend the morning hours patrolling the streets of Downtown Jackson.

6-25-02 KID`S MOVIE SERIES
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were the Special Guests at the Michigan Theatre for the movie SNOW DOGS. Also shown was the ten minute video CAPTAIN JACKSON AND CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL`S 2000 IRON MOUNTAIN VACATION along with a preview of the adventure movie The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS are currently woking on.

6-27-02 KID`S MOVIE SERIES
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were the Special Guests at the Michigan Theatre for the movie SNOW DOGS. Also shown was the ten minute video CAPTAIN JACKSON AND CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL`S 2000 IRON MOUNTAIN VACATION along with a preview of the adventure movie The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS are currently working on.

6-28-02 JUNE CRUISE NIGHT
Along with many Jackson City Police Officers, The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS were on hand to help make this event (with over three thousand people in attendance) a safe one for all to enjoy.
During the event, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL, along with The QUEEN of HEARTS, helped the Downtown Development Authority by passing out over 500 newsletters and events fliers.

7-3-02 KID`S MOVIE SERIES
CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to greet the many children on hand at The Michigan Theatre for the movie MAX KEEBLE`S BIG MOVE, and to make certain everyone was safe.
Later, The Captain did his usual downtown patrol.

7-5-02 DOWNTOWN PATROL

7-12-02 VIBE @ 5 AND JACKSON COUNTY HOOPS
The evening began with CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL working at the office of the DDA getting newsletters and fliers ready for distribution. During that time, CAPTAIN JACKSON was checking on events at the Riverwalk Hotel where the HOOPS pre-game party was getting underway. With plenty of Jackson`s Finest on hand for the basketball event, the members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS concentrated their efforts on Bucky Harris Park.
During the first band break at the park, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL handed out newsletters and fliers to those in attendance. Afterward, she distributed the same to people at the HOOPS event.
Once VIBE @ 5 was over, both worked the hotel and surrounding areas and finally turned their duties over to the Jackson City Police.

7-13-02 JACKSON COUNTY HOOPS
CAPTAIN JACKSON spent most of the day patrolling the Riverwalk Hotel and downtown area, giving a hand to the police, and as a volunteer.

7-14-02 JACKSON COUNTY HOOPS
CAPTAIN JACKSON was again on hand to patrol and help anywhere he could, including clean up after the event.

7-18-02 VOLUNTEER WORK
CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL spent most of the day doing volunteer work for The Downtown Development Authority. It was her job to hand out newsletters and posters to downtown businesses.

7-19-02 VIBE @ 5 AND THE MICHIGAN THEATRE
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL helped the police make the Bucky Harris Park event crime free and enjoyable for all. During the event, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL helped by handing out DDA newsletters to the patrons.
Later, CAPTAIN JACKSON worked at the Michigan Theatre, patrolling the area and helping out with security during the live production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

7-24-02 MICHIGAN THEATRE, RACE WEEK PARADE AND PASTA PIT STOP
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to greet patrons at the Michigan Theatre for the movie BIG FAT LIAR.
Later, CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to make sure the RACE WEEK Parade down Michigan Ave went off without any problems. After the race car hauling semi-trucks made their way through town and onto Pearl street, everyone assembled at Kuhl`s Farmers Market for a chance to meet a few of the drivers and feast on a spaghetti dinner. Members of the Jackson Corvette Club were also in attendance.

7-25-02 SOAP BOX DERBY AND BIKE RACE
CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand for both events which were held on Michigan Ave in Downtown Jackson. Both events were the first of their kind in years and hopefully become annual events. And even though it began to rain before both events concluded, they were attended by scores of participants and hundreds of spectators.

7-26-02 CRUISE NIGHT AND RACE WEEK ACTIVITIES
CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were out in force to assist the police with keeping this combination event, attended by around 7000, people safe for all. During the evening, members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS attended some of the different events including the Victory Lane Dedication, Jackson`s "Pit Row", the Pit Stop Challenge and the Go-Kart Challenge.
Once again, this proved to be a safe evening for all!

7-27-02 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND EVENING PATROL
CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand for the live stage show JOSEPH AND THE TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at the Michigan Theatre. Before, during and after, they took turns patrolling the street of Downtown Jackson to assist the local authorities to keep the evening safe and crime free for all!
