1-3-03 KATHLEEN ERIKSEN GOING AWAY PARTY

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were honored to attend the going away party for DDA Executive Director Kathleen Eriksen. The event was held at Daryl`s Downtown.
Kathleen took a job in Battle Creek doing the same thing she had become so famous for in Jackson---revitalizing the downtown district. Many locals and officials were in attendance, and she will be missed by everyone in this community.


1-3-03 MICHIGAN THEATRE

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand for the First Friday Movie at the Michigan Theatre, both as greeters and as security personnel. And this evening they were needed, as people lined up around the block to see the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".
Once the patrons were seated, the crime fighting duo took turns patrolling the streets to make certain the area was safe and crime free.


1-4-03 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to work security at the theater as well as patrol the downtown Jackson area.


1-8-03 DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON worked downtown Jackson to help the local police keep the area free of crime. While doing so, he visited The Michigan Theatre to help out with security as the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" seemed to be the biggest hit the theater has shown since the Jeff Daniels premiere of "Super Sucker".


1-11-03 LONNIE HULL DuPONT BIRTHDAY PARTY

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were proud to be in attendance of the fiftieth birthday party of Lonnie Hull DuPont at the Michigan, as well as patrol the streets of downtown Jackson.

Though the wind chill factors were in the single digits, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the streets of Jackson, as well as volunteered at The Michigan Theatre. No crime was reported.

Though the wind chill factors were still in the single digits, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the streets of Jackson, as well as attend the building committee meeting at The Michigan Theatre.


1-22-03 DOWNTOWN FLOWER PLANTING MEETING

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended the annual planting meeting at City Hall where volunteers decide what type of plants will be planted in the various city planters. For the fourth year in a row, THE CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS have maintained a planter at the corner of Washington and Blackstone. In addition, TWO planter buckets will again be handled by CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS for the second year.

In addition to patrolling the streets of Jackson, CAPTAIN JACKSON also volunteered at the Michigan Theatre, provided security.


1-25-03 RHYTHM ALLEY SHOW

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to enjoy the free music show which included Kevin Nichols, Mike Kavanaugh and Detroit blues master Paul Miles.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to volunteer at the theater as well as patrol the streets of Jackson in search of crime.


1-27-03 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND EVENING PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the streets of Jackson as well as visited the Michigan Theatre to make certain no crime occurred.


1-31-03 THREE DOG NIGHT CONCERT

With a sell out crowd, the scores of extra volunteers at Michigan Theatre certainly kept busy for this record event. Even security, usually handled by The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS, saw an extra number of personnel on hand. The band was great, and with a crowd of over fourteen hundred people, the even went off without a single problem as the patrons were very well behaved.
During the event, members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS took turns handling different areas of security, including the theater perimeter and Downtown Jackson.
After the show, many local city and business leaders, including CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS, attended the AFTERGLOW party which was held at Daryl`s Downtown to honor the band.


2-2-03 SNOWFLAKE CHILI COOK-OFF

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS once again joined the thousands of people who attended this annual event.
In addition to the many people who came just for the chili and salsa, the Cook-Off is also sort of a meeting place for Jackson "Who`s-Who". And even though the running joke has been that The Jackson Citizen Patriot (the event sponsor) "fixes" the outcome because they have won the media category 16 out of 17 years, this year it was taken by Jackson Magazine.

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL volunteered at the Michigan Theatre for the FIRST FRIDAY movie "8 MILE" and took turns patrolling the downtown district despite the bitterly cold temperatures.

2-14-03 KAWANIS CLUB MEETING

CAPTAIN JACKSON was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Downtown Kawanis Club. The meeting was held at Gilbert`s Streak House and the Captain was invited by County Clerk Sandy Crowley. He spoke about the history of the CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS and gave several safety tips.


2-14-03 JACKSON TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY LUNCHEON

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were honored to be invited to an appreciation lunch held at the JTA Headquarters.


2-15-03 THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to help at the Michigan Theatre for The AWARE SHELTER event. With over 1250 in attendance, everyone was kept busy.
During the performance, CAPTAIN JACKSON also patrolled the streets to make certain crime was down.


2-16-03 GODS AND GENERALS

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to help at the Michigan Theatre for the premiere of Jeff Daniels latest movie GODS AND GENERALS. With a packed house, it was all volunteers could do to keep up with the full house.

CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS collected tickets as CAPTAIN JACKSON filled in where he could. After the film began, Jeff Daniels took time for interviews and spent some time with The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was the honored to be a guest reader for Susan Maxon (and other`s) third grade classes at Hunt School in Jackson.

CAPTAIN JACKSON spent the afternoon patrolling the downtown area during which he picked up a prize he had won earlier on The Bart Hawley Show.


3-7-03 FIRST FRIDAY MOVIE

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were the Masters of Ceremony for the monthly "First Friday" movie presentation at The Michigan Theatre. After their performance, the crime fighting duo patrolled the streets in search of crime.

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to volunteer at the Michigan Theatre and take turns patrolling the downtown area of Jackson. During one such patrol, CAPTAIN JACKSON witnessed a Personal Property Damage accident and had to be on hand for the local authorities to take the report.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was busy patrolling the Downtown District most of the afternoon until it was time to attend the monthly Building Committee meeting at the Michigan Theatre. Afterward, he continued his patrols.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on Downtown patrol during the evening, as well as helped at The Michigan Theatre. The evening was quiet and the Captain also enjoyed greeting citizens on the streets.

The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS was on hand at the Michigan Theatre to work security for the event, as well as take turns patrolling the Downtown Jackson area. After the show it was their job to escort the band members to their various destinations.

CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL was on hand as the guest celebrity during the event. In addition to greeting kids to the event, she also took a few minutes to check on the safety of Jackson.

The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS was on hand to celebrate the 34th birthday of fan and friend Daniel Cooper.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on Downtown patrol during the evening, as well as helped at The Michigan Theatre.


4-10-03 LOU KASISCHKE PRESENTATION AT THE MICHIGAN

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to help out at the theatre for the program about Lou`s expedition to Mount Everest.


4-11-03 AWARE SHELTER MARCH

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to participate in the sixth annual AWARE Shelter Sexual Assault Awareness March. This was the fourth attendance for the Captain, and he did his duty by directing traffic to protect the safety of the marchers. After the march there was a very moving presentation at the Jackson Symphony Hall.


4-11-03 EVENING DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS spent the evening hours patrolling the downtown district. During the evening they took some time to meet with visiting Band Road Manager Bill Carlton (the man responsible for bringing Cheap Trick, Three Dog Night and Jefferson Starship to the Michigan Theatre) at The Red Moose Inn. They also danced together to the music of the band The Persuaders, who also sang their Captain Jackson song.


4-12-03 DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the area and made it a point to stop in at Rhythm Alley, where he met blues artist Bobby Rush.

CAPTAIN JACKSON volunteered at the theater for the Jackson Variety Showcase talent show as well as patrolled the downtown area, during which time he discovered an unlocked door at The Swan Creek Candle Shop. Alerting 911, he waited until security and the police arrived to make his report and make certain the building was again secure.

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL visited Grandma Jackson, who lives in the Detroit area.

CAPTAIN JACKSON roamed the downtown area, during which many local high school students where around for their Prom night dinners. Meeting and speaking to many of them, the Captain made certain to drill in his anti-drinking and driving message.

CAPTAIN JACKSON worked his regular patrol as well as volunteered at the Michigan. After the movie, he continued his patrols and ran into visiting band road manager Bill Carlton. Later, he met with members of the Jackson City Police who inquired about any crime activities downtown. He reported it had been a "quiet and dead night".
