1-2-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE, BELLA NOTTE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL began the evening volunteering at the theater. During the FIRST FRIDAY presentation, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and visiting celeb Ann Dickens were on stage to give away the prizes.

Once the movie began, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the downtown streets. During his patrol, he encountered a panhandler who was bothering people outside Belle Notte. Once he alerted the local police, the man was removed.

After the movie and the theater was secured, the duo visited Bella Notte where John Griffin and The Persuaders were performing. Once the duo entered, the band played their "Captain Jackson song". The Captain was even asked to dance by a young lady who was a fan.


1-3-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON spent the evening between The Michigan Theatre and his downtown district. Later, after helping close the theater, the Captain took a break at Bella Notte` where The Persuaders again played their "Captain Jackson" song. Many patrons applauded not only the band, but the Captain himself for all the hard work that he and The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS do for the community.

Afterward, he continued patrolling the area as well as checking the doors of local businesses.

1-10-04 MITCH RYDER CONCERT

With close to a full house at The Michigan Theatre, The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS were kept busy working with staff and volunteers to made certain the performance of RARE EARTH and MITCH RYDER and the DETROIT WHEELS was a success. During and after the performances, they also had the opportunity to meet with many of the various band members.

1-12-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand for the first movie of the JCC Winter Film Series. He was introduced to the class by Dr. Ann Green, and afterward was invited to "sit in" on the class to give his opinions of the silent film, "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", which the Captain had suggested.

Before and after the showing of the film, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the cold streets of Jackson.

CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the downtown district as well as volunteered at the Michigan Theatre.

After winning the daily prize on The Bart Hawley Show, CAPTAIN JACKSON spent the evening patrolling a very cold Jackson.


1-24-04 MAGICAL MENTORING AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to work security for the first Magic Mentoring program which was held at The Michigan Theatre. In addition to Tom Stobie, Full Circle Program Director, Jackson Mayor Martin Griffin, State Senator Mark Schauer spoke during the event. Magician Michael McGivern gave a magic show for the attending children.

Later CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the downtown area.

CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the downtown district as well as volunteered at the Michigan Theatre. Even though it was the very cold night, there was one incident when a drunk had to be removed from Belle Notte.

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand for the First Friday movie at the Michigan Theatre as well as taking turns patrolling the downtown Jackson district.


2-8-04 18th ANNUAL SNOWFLAKE CHILI COOK-OFF

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS visited the annual event to meet fans as well as taste the many varieties of chili and salsa. Also visiting were Joe and Liz from Global 1 Network.

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended the monthly meeting and later patrolled his district.


2-18-04 FLOWER PLANTING MEETING AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended the annual Jackson flower planting meeting where volunteers "adopt" downtown planters and plant flowers and care for them throughout the spring and summer season (this will be the fifth year that members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS have adopted a planter).

Later, the Captain did his usual patrol route to insure any possible crime was kept to a minimum.


2-20-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to volunteer at the theater. During this time, CAPTAIN JACKSON patrolled the area and was alerted to a panhandler who was harassing patrons of local eating establishments (he`d reported this man to the police a number of days earlier). Calling the City Police Department, he was advised to contact 911 directly. Within minutes of his call, three City Officers joined him searching for the criminal. And though the authorities knew the identity of this man, they needed to actually catch him in the act.


2-21-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to volunteer at the theater. CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL had arrived around noon and worked a YMCA party with other volunteers, with the Captain joining her later in the day. She was again commended for her hard work.

The pair worked until well past nine that night and took turns patrolling the downtown district.

3-5-04 CHILDREN`S FILM FESTIVAL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on duty at the Michigan Theatre for the East Lansing Children`s Film Festival. Many children`s films from 13 countries were shown.

Before and after the event, Multi-Media of Lansing was on hand to create five minute Star Wars tape with kids superimposed with actual movie footage. One little girl named Jodi was afraid to do it by herself and asked CAPTAIN JACKSON to join in. He gladly obliged.

Besides their usual volunteer duties at the Michigan, both spent time patrolling their district.


3-6-04 THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to work security at The Michigan Theatre for the second annual performance of The Aware Shelter`s fundraising event.

The event went smoothly, so CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS took turns patrolling the streets and doing bar checks.

Because Theater House Manager George Davis had to leave early due to a slight illness, the trio worked late with Theater Executive Director Bob Moles to make certain the theater was clean and secure before leaving.

CAPTAIN JACKSON began his long evening by volunteering at the theater. During movie showings he patrolled the streets and did bar checks where he was again taking reports of the "downtown panhandler", as well as reported kids on bikes committing vandalism to city property to the city police.

Later, he visited Bella Notte to partake in the First Annual Muscular Dystrophy wine tasting fund-raiser.

3-16-04 MCHIGAN THEATRE BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING AND JACKSON CITY COUNCIL MEETING

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended the monthly Building Committee meeting at the Theater.

4-2-04/4-3-04 VISIT TO DETROIT AND G1NBC

The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS visited the Detroit area to visit GRANDMA JACKSON as well as execs at the Global 1 Network Broadcasting Company. During their visit, they visited a studio at the Livonia Mall as well as met with many locals.


4-5-04 KID`S SPRING BREAK FILM SERIES

CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL was very happy to volunteer during her spring break at The Michigan Theatre where she helped make sure everything went smoothly for the many children who attended.

Later in the day CAPTAIN JACKSON joined CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL at the Michigan for the evening JCC FILM SERIES MOVIE. During the show they took turns patrolling the downtown area and took a break for dinner at a local eatery.

4-17-04 BLUE OYSTER CULT CONCERT

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to work security for the band at The Michigan Theatre. Coordinating security efforts, the Captain also worked with the Jackson Fire Department who were on hand to inspect the theater as well as make certain no emergencies occurred during the show.

After the concert, the three had a chance to personally meet with members of the band and have their photos taken.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand for the theater`s fund raising campaign kick-off. Later, he patrolled the streets of Jackson.


4-24-04 METAL FOR THE MASSES

CAPTAIN JACKSON worked security for the four band concert. Though the number of patrons was low, Manager George Davis had to leave early, along many of the regular volunteers. It was up to CAPTAIN JACKSON, Dennis Burkhart and his son Dustin to make sure the theater was secure after the bands were gone.

4-30-04 ANNUAL AWARE SHELTER MARCH

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS participated in the annual "Take Back The Night" march to alert people about sexual violence. This was the Captain`s fifth year and The Queen`s fourth.


4-30-04 74th MICHIGAN THEATRE BIRTHDAY PARTY

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS attended the annual birthday and volunteer appreciation party. During the celebration the Captain was awarded a first ever given "Certificate of Appreciation" for all his hard work restoring the antique apparatus.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand for the last JCC Winter Film Series movie of the year at the Michigan. After the movie, teacher Dr. Ann Green thanked the Captain for another season of his hard work.


5-5-04 POLICE MEMORIAL SERVICE AND PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended the annual police memorial service at Bucky Harris Park which honored fallen police officers of the area. It was a very humbling service.

After the service, the Captain visited JTV-17 where he was on hand for a taping of The Bart Hawley Show. Then he did one of his first "daytime" patrols of the season, during which he visited the Jackson Chamber of Commerce and Director Susan Milhoun. Continuing his patrol, he worked into the early evening patrolling his district.


5-7-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand to assist at The Michigan Theatre during the adult version of the annual STORYFEST presentation which attracted more than six hundred people. Once the event began he made it a point of spending time with a father named Mike who had brought his two boys and one of their friends from the Ann Arbor area to meet the Captain and see what patrolling the downtown area was all about.

During the show he made his usual rounds checking doors and performing bar checks, and returned in time to help secure the theater after the performance.


5-8-04 VISITING DETROIT

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL paid a visit to the Detroit area where they met with representatives of Global 1 Network, during which they traveled to a shopping mall in Auburn Hills to meet local fans and spread their work about fighting crime.

Afterward, they visited, and spent the night at GRANDMA JACKSON`s home, to celebrate Mother`s Day with the Captain`s mother.

CAPTAIN JACKSON spent the late afternoon and evening patrolling his district as well as volunteering at The Michigan Theatre. During the movie, the Captain joined many others at Bella Notte to for Linda Furgason`s surprise birthday.

After helping secure the theater, he visited The Office Bar. The Persuaders were performing and played their "Captain Jackson" song.


5-17-04 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand at The Jackson Transit Authority`s downtown transfer station to greed patrons, help hand out free popcorn and sell the very popular "fifty cent hot dog and soda" meal which draws many visitors to the bus station during this annual week long event.


5-17-04 ROCKIN` IN THE U.S.A.

After performing his duty at the JTA event, CAPTAIN JACKSON stopped by The Michigan Theatre and was informed by theater house manager George Davis that the Paragon School`s musical event was expecting about 1500 people (originally it was supposed to be around 500) and he was short of volunteers. Being the trouper he has always been, he joined in and worked until the theater was empty and secure at around 11:00pm.


5-18-04 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK

The QUEEN of HEARTS took her turn volunteering at the JTA transit station. On that day they offered free "horse and buggy" rides. The QUEEN of HEARTS rode the carriage seven times taking visiting school children with her during these trips.

Later she made her "rounds" in the downtown district and visited many local businesses.


5-18-04 BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING

CAPTAIN JACKSON attended The Michigan Theatre`s Building Committee Meeting. Later he spend a couple hours patrolling his district.


5-21-04 NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION WEEK

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on hand for the last day of the week long annual event, during which a severe thunderstorm rumbled through Jackson, leaving many areas in ruins and without power.


5-22-04 SUMMER PLANTING DAY

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS were downtown early to join the scores of people who were there to participate in the annual flower planting event. All three members of The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS have adopted planters throughout the downtown area.


5-26-04 DOWNTOWN PATROL


5-25-04 MAY CRUISE NIGHT

The first CRUISE NIGHT of the year was a great success! And though it was held on the first day of Memorial Day Weekend when many locals leave town, there were still over two thousand people and well over a hundred vintage and hot rod cars downtown for the event.

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS worked with the police to make certain this event was a safe family event for all who attended. Alone with the trio, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL`S good friend Lindsay Hagerman was along to help her pass out fliers from The Michigan Theatre regarding their upcoming events.

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on patrol in the downtown district. As it was the first Amphitheater Concert (with Kung Fu Diesel) that allowed open intoxicants, he made his presence known to help with the local police if needed.

During the evening he also stopped in at The Michigan Theatre to check on the movie activities.


6-5-04 DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON was on patrol in the downtown district. During the evening he stopped in at The Michigan Theatre to check on the movie activities.


6-6-04 ROSE PARADE AND BLUES FESTIVAL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and The QUEEN of HEARTS were on hand to assist the Jackson Police to work crowd control during the annual parade down Michigan Avenue. And, as usual, they ended the parade waving and greeting their many fans in attendance.

Later, after a brief stop at The Michigan Theatre, they proceeded to The County Fairgrounds were they checked out the third annual Jackson Blues Festival.


6-9-04 DOWNTOWN PATROL


6-11-04 LUNCH, THE BART HAWLEY SHOW, THE MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROLS

CAPTAIN JACKSON had a very busy day. First, he had lunch with friends and fans Daniel and Chad. From there he visited JTV where he was an audience member.

After a couple of hours of local patrol work the Captain checked out the activities at the amphitheater concert and then went on to The Michigan Theatre to add his volunteer services for the first performance of The Rosier Players annual show.


6-12-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

Though a quiet night downtown, CAPTAIN JACKSON was kept busy volunteering at the theater during The Rosier Players performance.


6-15-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND PATOLS

CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL was on hand to volunteer at The Michigan Theatre for the first of the SUMMER KID`S MOVIE SERIES shows. During the movie she patrolled the streets of the downtown district.

Later she was joined by CAPTAIN JACKSON for the Jackson Human Relations Commision`s Free Movie. During the show they took turns patrolling the streets.


6-17-04 MICHIGAN THEATRE AND THE ROSIER PLAYERS

CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL was on hand to volunteer at The Michigan Theatre for the SUMMER KID`S MOVIE SERIES shows. During the movie she patrolled the streets of the downtown district.

Later, she was on hand during The Rosier Players performance.


6-17-04 CROPS WALK MEETING

CAPTAIN JACKSON was invited to help with public relations for this organization, which raises money each year for local food pantries by holding a march each October.

Later he joined CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL downtown for patrol and to volunteer at The Michigan Theatre.


6-18-04 WHEELS OF THUNDER AND BRIAN HOWE CONCERT

CAPTAIN JACKSON, CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL and The QUEEN of HEARTS spent a long day on the streets of Jackson.

First, they worked with the local police to make certain the first WHEELS OF THUNDER downtown motorcycle event went off without any problems.

Later, the trio were at The Michigan Theatre to work security for the Brian Howe concert which featured Detroit Red Wings star Darrin McCarty and The Grinders as the warm up band. Before and after the concert they took time for photo shoots with the performers (check out their individual PHOTO GALLERIES for the pictures). During the concert the three also took turns patrolling the streets of the downtown district.

After the concert, The CRIMEFIGHTER CORPS were invited to visit Daryl`s Downtown to spend a few minutes with Brian Howe.


6-19-04 THE ROSIER PLAYERS AND DOWNTOWN PATROL

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to volunteer at The Michigan Theatre for the Rosier Players performance as well as patrol the streets of Jackson.

During the Rosier Players performance, CAPTAIN JACKSON also checked out the JUNETEENTH activities at the amphitheater.

6-25-04 CRUISE NIGHT

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on duty for the monthly summer event. During their patrol, they were guests on the live Q105.3 transmission with "J-Rod" as well as met with many fans and supporters.

CAPTAIN JACKSON also spotted a local who he believed had criminal warrants for his arrest, which he reported to the city police officers on duty. Afterward, the man was detained.

After the event began to break up, the pair visited The Michigan Theatre where they offered their volunteer services.


6-26-04 DOWNTOWN PATROL, MICHIGAN THEATRE AND THE JACKSON AMERICAN VETERANS MOTORCYCLE CLUB EVENT

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were again on duty to volunteer at The Michigan Theatre and protect the citizens of Jackson.

While on their first patrol, they were called over by Annette Walker, owner of Belle Notte, to meet her daughter and her boyfriend who were visiting from Grand Rapids. During their stop, two Jackson City Police bicycle Officers stopped by. After the Captain discussed the recent problems in the downtown district, and all continued on their way.

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL reported to The Michigan Theatre as volunteers. As the attendance was very low, CAPTAIN JACKSON continued patrol and headed toward Mechanic and Detroit streets where he visited the motorcycle event where he enjoyed the family fun and music, and met with many locals.

Later, the pair checked doors and patrolled the area.


6-2-0-4 KID`S MOVIE SERIES, THE BART HAWLEY SHOW AND CHARLIE JOHNSON RETIREMENT PARTY

CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL were on hand to greet children and work as celebrity guests at The Michigan Theatre for the annual Kid`s Movie Series.

During the show, CAPTAIN JACKSON and CRIMEFIGHTER GIRL patrolled the streets and CAPTAIN JACKSON stopped by JTV to view a bit of The Bart Hawley Show.

Later, on the request of Foote Hospital President Georgia Fojtasek, CAPTAIN JACKSON was the honored guest at The Jackson Country Club where he presented Charlie Johnson, Senior Vice President of Finance and Managed Care, with a special award as he was retiring from Foote Hospital and relocating in Madison, Wisconsin.
