In the local newspaper we have heard expressions such as "Well, Darling", and "Action". On Bart Hawley"s cable TV presentation we have seen interviews by locals "stars" who will say a line or two, or even less, a word. And all this is supposed to be Hollywood?

No, the Hollywood these "wannabe" stars are dreaming about is an era decades gone. What is actually happening in our city is a movie production crew is producing a motion picture, and at the same time boosting this city and also bringing needed money to the downtown district.

Have any of you actually met Jeff Daniels or his staff? I have. And I didn`t need an agent to do it. I simply walked up and said "hello".

For example, at the corner of Cortland and Mechanic is the scene for the "Super Sucker" vacuum cleaner showroom. My daughter and I were walking past when the crew was unloading materials for the "set". "Can we help?" I asked.

"Ya, can you grab that?"

Not a problem. And afterward we shared a mutual moment of family history. While my daughter and I spend a great deal of time together, these people work long hours and wish they too could spend a great deal of time with their family members as well.

Then I stopped by the Harris building. By coincidence it just happened to be where the movie crew was filming. And if you have been downtown in the past few days, you have seen the massive equipment in the parking lot just to the East. To me, it was just a question of parking space.

The people you are likely to meet are very professional. These are also the people that make "Hollywood" work. Don`t get me wrong, it`s not that the film stars aren`t important. It`s just that we should remember the people that really make such a movie become reality. I have, and they are just like you and me.
